[T]he importance of piety and religion; of industry and frugality; of prudence, economy, regularity and an even government; all...are essential to the well-being of a family.

Religion in a Family is at once its brightest Ornament & its best Security.

In fact, speaking the truth in love is not only timely but also critical. We must recover- without embarrassment or apology- the basic belief in truth. This means embracing all people but not all beliefs. It means listening to and learning from all people but not necessarily agreeing with them.

"But what is deadly to the soul of man is the conception that Evil is a subject of Knowledge as well as Good.  For this reason: that by thinking of Evil as a subject to be studied, we thereby attribute to it a substantive existence of its own: in other words we look upon it as having a self-originating power, which as we advance in our studies more and more clearly is not the case.  And so, by the law of creating working of Thought,  we bring Evil into existence."

That friendship which intelligent beings would accept as sincere must arise from love, and that love grows out of virtue, which is as much a part of religion as light is a part of Jehovah.

We patch up our world by tearing our religion into pieces. So that neither our religion remains, nor what we are patching.

Religion cannot survive, whole and effective, when it is confined to one single compartment of life and education. Religion is either all or it is nothing; either it dwarfs all profane studies or it is dwarfed by them.

We are living in such sweetness that if kings knew about it, they would fight us over it with their swords.

We have a message, and our message is a message of mercy and love and hope. That really is the message of Islam. But let me warn myself and you. If we can't practice that within ourselves, we are in no position of trying to even pretend to lead others to this religion. We are only driving them away sometimes, unless Allah's care takes them and brings them to us. That's the fact.

We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.
