We cannot waste time. We can only waste ourselves.
James E. Talmage has said the more powerful the experience, the more private. Steven Covey has said that we all have private battles and public battles. Pornography is corruptive because it takes our private time, our times of greatest opportunity and fills that time with waste and it does destroy. I wonder what we feed our minds with? I wonder what we do with that time? If we have poor images, wrongful desires, we should ask Christ to alleviate from us these things in order that we may conquer such things.Author: Campbell Grey, Source: 15 April 2002 (Easter Sunday) Provo Tabernacle Stake Meeting
Our education must never stop. If it ends at the door of the classroom on graduation day, we will fail. And since what we will need to know is hard to discern, we need the help of heaven to know which of the myriad of things we could study we would most wisely learn. It also means that we cannot waste time entertaining ourselves when we have the chance to read or to listen to whatever will help us learn what is true and useful. Insatiable curiosity will be our hallmark.Author: Elder Henry B. Eyring, Source: CES Fireside for Young Adults, 6 May 2001, http://lds.org/broa...
No "natural" resource is more precious and to be used more wisely than time. These mortal moments matter more than we know. There are no idle hours; there are only idle people. In true righteousness there is serenity, but there is an array of reminders that the "sacred present" is packed with possibilities which are slipping by us, which are going away from us each moment.Author: Neal A Maxwell, Source: Taking Up the Cross, Firesite BYU 4 Jan 1976: http://speeches....

Short as life is, we make it still shorter by the careless waste of time.
The old couplet "Waste not, want not" still has much merit. Frugality requires that we live within our income and save a little for a rainy day, which always seems to come.Author: Glenn L. Pace, Source: General Conference, April 1986
